Mercury float switches now banned

A mercury product ban that went into effect in the state of Wisconsin this month. The provisions of 2009 Wisconsin Act 44 took effect on October 1, 2010. (Go to http://www.legis.state.wi.us/2009/data/acts/09Act44.pdf to view the new law.)

This legislation restricts the sale and use of mercury. Specifically, the use of mercury will be prohibited in a variety of products including certain POWTS related components such as float switches that are installed on or after the effective date.
